| Description: |
Many American visitors to Norway are descendants of the roughly 800,000 Norwegians who immigrated to the U.S. between 1825 and 1925. They want to go back and see what life was like for their grandparents and great-grandparents. Times have changed, of course, so the Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture -- in an effort to preserve the rural landscape and culture -- has been subsidizing the conversion of farmhouses to inns.
