Critically Injured Missouri Teen, Kaylee Gain, Suffers Fractured Skull as Family Holds Hope for Recovery

The heart-wrenching condition of Kaylee Gain, a 16-year-old Missouri resident, continues to be a subject of deep concern for her loved ones, as she remains in critical condition following an unfortunate incident 10 days ago. The devastating turn of events occurred near St. Louis’ Hazelwood East High School, leaving the young girl in a precarious state with a fractured skull and unconsciousness.

A statement issued by Bryan Kaemmerer, an attorney representing Kaylee’s family, provides insight into her current situation: “The full scope and extent of Kaylee’s injuries and prognosis for recovery cannot be determined until, with God’s grace, she regains consciousness.”

The unfortunate event was captured on video, revealing a brutal altercation between Kaylee and another teenage girl. The footage illustrates the moment when Kaylee was violently thrown to the ground and repeatedly punched in the head, resulting in her skull fracture. The disturbing incident left onlookers shocked and concerned for her wellbeing.

Police are currently investigating the matter, but have yet to publicly identify those involved or disclose information regarding what triggered the conflict. However, they confirmed that an arrest had been made in relation to the case on March 9th, with a 15-year-old suspect being held by St. Louis County Family Court on assault charges.

The Gain family has requested that no reprisals be taken against anyone potentially implicated in the incident. They remain steadfastly focused on Kaylee’s recovery, expressing their desire for justice to be served through due process and legal channels: “Although the family would like justice to eventually be served through the legal system, their focus at this time is dedicated exclusively to Kaylee’s recovery.”

Kaylee is enrolled as a student at Hazelwood East High School, where the school district expressed its condolences following the altercation: “Bullying and fighting in the community is an issue for which we all need to take ownership and work towards a resolution for the sake of our children.”

In response to the unfolding tragedy, a GoFundMe page has been established on behalf of Kaylee and her family to help alleviate financial burdens during this challenging time.

Our thoughts are with Kaylee Gain, her loved ones, and the entire community as they navigate this difficult period and seek a path towards recovery and healing.
